Handgun Magazines and Magazine Loaders

When you purchase a new handgun, it usually comes with a magazine.  You may also find that when a new gun is a bit more expensive than the same gun somewhere else, it may be because it offers two magazines.  So check first before you overlook a gun you may think is overpriced.  It could save you money!

Should you not be familiar with handgun magazines, here’s a Wikipedia definition:

A magazine is an ammunition storage and feeding device within or attached to a repeating firearm. Magazines can be removable (detachable) or integral to the firearm.

For this handgun discussion, I’m referring to magazines for .38/.357 Caliber and 9mm handguns as far as size, but my source offers all sizes. Magazines are easily removed from handguns and easily attached once reloaded.

It’s good to have at least two magazines per gun, but I’ve decided to increase that number for target shooting and because I want the convenience.

When I share my 3 + 1 handgun Recommendations, I’ll talk more about magazine sizes for each and where to purchase them for the best availability and deal.

Make Loading Your Handgun Magazine Simple and Painless

Handgun Magazine Loaders: I possess and use two handgun loaders which I find essential on the firing range especially. They make it quick, easy and painless to load magazines. I love them, but some people feel that they’re too much trouble. I bought one to try and then bought a larger size for my 9mm. They’re easy to pack and carry in my range bag.

I found the best source as far as price.  I can’t compare quality with other brands, but these work great.  I’ve had them for almost a year and they’re still in perfect working order, so I’m very happy with them.  I purchased them here with free shipping.
